  She doesn’t know it but this picture of my best friend Alex and I is one of my favorites. Even though we’ve taken hundreds of pictures together there is something special about this one. Neither of us is looking at the camera and yet it captures our relationship perfectly: she’s laughing and I’m just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. This week she started medical school in Chicago and even though we can’t see each other as often, this picture helps me remember exactly why she is so important to me. No one can make me laugh the way she does.
